Onyx II is a 30.25-metre sailing yacht crafted by renowned Nautor's Swan and delivered in 2005. Designed for long-range fast cruising, she epitomises the powerful yet graceful lines of Nautor's Swan, blending performance, comfort and style. The exterior and naval architecture are the work of German Frers, while her interior was penned by Nautor's Swan. Constructed in GRP with a deep fin keel, she is ideally suited for bluewater voyages and far flung cruising grounds. A multi million euro refit / rebuild was carried out in 2021, and Onyx II has been kept in immaculate condition since. She has benefitted from continual upgrades and maintenance that enhance her technical and aesthetic features. Her powerful rig, carbon fibre mast and slab reefing main support excellent sailing performance, whether under full sail or motor-sailing at a steady 9.5-knot cruising speed. With accommodation for 8 guests in four cabins, plus crew quarters forward, she offers comfort and privacy while maintaining strong sailing credentials.
Sleek lines and bluewater sailing credentials
The exterior profile of Onyx II is striking yet understated, with her low-profile coachroof, flush teak decks, and wide open cockpit exuding traditional sailing elegance. Her 41.5-metre carbon mast and furling boom from Southern Spars provide power and efficiency, while hydraulic winches and sail controls ensure ease of handling with minimal crew. The main cockpit is sheltered by a retractable bimini and dodger, making it suitable for extended voyages in a range of climates. The cokpot was cleverly remodelled to provide better access and more a comfortable entertaining / seating area. The expansive aft deck provides ample space for sunbathing or entertaining, and the wide walkways enhance onboard safety and flow. All elements come together to form a yacht that is as functional for daytrips and long passages as it is stunning at anchor.
Warm wood interiors with a refined atmosphere
Onyx II’s interior is both inviting and sophisticated, defined by fine teak panelling, rich fabrics, and natural light filtering through numerous skylights and portlights. Designed by Nautor's Swan, the layout is both practical and elegant, tailored to luxurious long-distance cruising. The main saloon features a large dining area to starboard and a lounge with comfortable seating to port, all accented by traditional craftsmanship and thoughtful detailing. A spacious nav station is positioned aft of the main saloon, ideal for passage planning. Accommodation includes a full-beam owner’s suite aft, which offers excellent privacy and comfort, complete with an en-suite bathroom and ample storage. Two twin guest cabins further forward also feature en-suites, with a forth cabin forward of the saloon. The layout provides execellent separation between guest and crew areas. The huge galley is well-appointed for extended cruising, with capacious fridges and freezers under the sole and two upright fridges and freezers, while the crew quarters forward comfortably accommodate four crew.
