Cantiere Rossi, in the 1980s, dealt almost exclusively with nautical and industrial carpentry and repairs, thus developing a deep knowledge of materials, and working tools. In the 1990s, the work developed by combining collective memory and current experience. The shipyard specialized in building passenger, inland and ocean-going ships. It also continued with technical refinement, dealing with carpentry and construction of hulls and superstructures for other shipyards, and in the construction of mechanical components for ship fitting out. Marrying the complementary skills of hull building and interior fit out seems inevitable now. Rossinavi’s focus on custom projects but all within an overarching design theme has led to the delivery of an instantly recognisable fleet of very different boats from 40m to 70m across planing, semi- displacement and displacement vessels including the recent launch of the ground breaking Seawolf X catamaran.
