Palmer Johnson

Performance with Presence

With roots dating back to 1918 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Palmer Johnson evolved from wooden craft to aluminium icons and, later, carbon-composite sport yachts. Renowned for sleek lines, dramatic arches and unapologetic performance, PJ collaborated with leading designers—most notably Nuvolari-Lenard—to create yachts that feel as athletic as they look. The brand’s modern design language culminated in the SuperSport concepts, marrying high speed with improved efficiency and stability. Palmer Johnson closed its historic U.S. shipyard in 2015, with plans to shift future activity to Europe; even so, existing PJs remain among the most recognisable and sought-after sport yachts on the market.

Signature Series

SportYacht (120–210 ft). Semi-displacement aluminium yachts defined by long, low profiles and big open decks, typically delivering high-20s to 30-knot performance. Flagship examples include the PJ210 platform penned by Nuvolari-Lenard.

SuperSport (42m / 48m / 72m). A carbon wave-piercer concept with twin sponsons for greater stability and roll-damping, targeting 30+ knot cruise and improved fuel efficiency—born to blend superyacht comfort with true sport-yacht pace.

Notable Yachts

Lady M (65m / PJ210). A definitive PJ flagship launched in 2013: sharp, sculptural and fast, with exterior and interior by Nuvolari-Lenard. DB9 (52.4m / PJ170). A pure statement of speed and style—open, low and effortlessly quick—showcasing the brand’s SportYacht DNA. Khalilah (49.5m). Among the first all-carbon superyachts and instantly recognisable; broad beam, bold aesthetics and a thoroughly modern attitude.

Palmer Johnson’s appeal endures because the yachts deliver a rare blend: striking proportions, real pace, and generous, usable deck spaces—all wrapped in a design signature that remains instantly PJ. Whether you’re buying, selling, refitting or exploring a new-build concept, the marque continues to represent performance-led luxury with lasting cachet.
